To complement the expansion of its online offering, Holland & Barrett has launched Healthbox, a new and exclusive, online, personalised subscription service for vitamins, minerals and supplements using the advice and recommendations of qualified nutritionists. Healthbox customers will be asked to answer a variety of health questions, developing a truly unique vitamin subscription through their letterbox on a monthly basis.

Holland & Barrett International is one of the world’s leading health and wellness retailers and the largest in Europe, supplying its customers with a wide range of vitamins, minerals, health supplements, specialist foods and natural beauty products. Established in 1870, Holland & Barrett currently operates more than 1,150 stores worldwide including 800 in the UK and Ireland.

Holland & Barrett required a software solution to control and verify the picking and assembly process for each individual Healthbox order. Batch traceability and real-time integration with the Holland & Barrett ERP system were essential requirements.

After a site visit to Kanes Foods Ltd, who have been using the Seamcor software since 2008, Seamcor were chosen from a group of suppliers. Their existing Principle Suite platform was expanded to include capabilities for ERP Integration and Order Picking. The software is hosted in the Holland & Barrett AWS environment to provide 24/7 availability.

Michael Richards, Head of Production at Holland & Barrett, says “The team at Seamcor thoroughly understood the brief and delivered a user-friendly system, which also gave the control we required.  The AP team worked tirelessly to ensure that the launch date was achieved and go live was without incident. Throughout the entire project they demonstrated agility and flexibility, no request went unanswered.

We will be working closely with Seamcor going forwards to enhance the system we already have and also to look at other site applications where Principle Suite can improve and simplify our production, maintenance and quality control processes for the manufacturing site based in Burton-Upon-Trent.”
